The National War Memorial was inaugurated on February 25, 2019, by Prime Minister Narendra Modi near India Gate, New Delhi. It has been built as a tribute to the soldiers killed during the Indo-China War in 1962, the Indo-Pak Wars in 1947, 1965 and 1971, the Kargil Conflict in 1999, and the Indian Peace Keeping Force Operations in Sri Lanka.

Extending Mahatma Gandhi’s 150th birth anniversary celebrations to foreign shores, the India pavilion at the upcoming Venice Biennale has been themed ‘150 years of Mahatma Gandhi’. This will be the second time India has shown at the biennial, having debuted in 2011.
