Swedish design brand Hem celebrated Los Angeles Design Festival at their newly inaugurated showroom in downtown LA. There was a raffle auction of Max Lamb’s Last Stools reimagined by the likes of Snohetta, Rapt Studio, Kelly Wearstler and eight other design studios, to benefit local urban design non-profit LA-Mas. Some studios created new uses for the stool, transformed some into a light with a black shade. “ We wanted to do a fun event for the L.A. community, and give something back,” Diekmann says, head of design at Hem.
