Reconnecting the two sides of a medieval ruin in Cornwall, the Tintagel Castle Bridge is a 190 meter cantilevered footbridge. The interesting aspect of the design seems to be the middle span where the two 30 meter cantilevers meet with a 40- millimeter gap. Although the original bridge was lost in the 15th century, the architects and engineers used the same material for the new construction that is slate but used it so as to give a modern touch”
