For Milan’s Salone del Mobile 2019, Google and the Johns Hopkins University’s Arts + Mind Lab designed an installation that allows measuring how our body reacts to the surrounding environment.
A band which was made especially for this has the ability to read the visitor’s sensorial experience while he is walking through the different rooms at the installation. This uses four sensors to measure specific physical and physiological responses, such as heart rate and skin conductivity. The installation called ‘A Space for Being’ is based on the principle of the neuro-aesthetic and monitor our perceptions into a specific context.
