Finbarr Fallon captures the dead in Hong Kong

In his new Photo series, called the ‘Dead Space’, the British designer Finbarr Fallon has captured the highly dense graveyards in Hong Kong. Land turns out to be an important resource in a region with high urban density the graveyards are inhabiting the terraced mountain sides.  The escalation has resulted in expensive graveyard plots which difficult to afford and thus the government of Hong Kong has encouraged cremation as an alternative. The photos are shot over a period of 4 years from 2015-2019 and so the subjects in the images are now standing as a reminder of the past.
