Adidas is set to launch its first fully recyclable trainer that comes with a never-ending lifespan by 2021. As part of their motive to fight plastic waste, Adidas’ new trainers use only one material and no glue – making them easily recyclable.
Adidas partnered with Parley for the Oceans – an organization working to raise awareness of the threat to the world’s oceans – to create the shoe, which will be made by intercepting plastic waste on beaches, remote islands and in coastal communities. This year, the brand will produce 11 million pairs of shoes.
