The latest proposal for the LACMA campus, under the watch of famed Swiss architect Peter Zumthor, was unanimously approved by county supervisors earlier today. The county board of supervisors voted Tuesday to approve the current plan and release $117.5 million in taxpayer funding for it. Zumthor designed a sinuous building composed of seven semi-transparent concrete and glass pavilions that support an elevated, organically shaped, and transparent main exhibition level with a floor-to-ceiling glass facade.
