Kansas City has become the first major city in the United States to approve free public transit. Made universal and system wide fare scheme, the Zero Transit Fare proposal aims at increasing the increasing the ridership on transit systems. The proposal emerges as the solution for a number of existing city conditions like a better transit system for public transit dependent people, to fight against climatic crisis and what not.
