Endangered due to the rising issues of overcrowding, pollution, and even more importantly most parts of the capital, sinking by 7 inches every coming year due to degraded underground conditions has caused the shift of capital of Indonesia from Jakarta. Presently, two-fifth of Jakarta is living below sea level. The rising sea water levels due to a coherent change in climate also adds to the concern which apparently can lead Jakarta’s large areas totally submerged into water by 2050. The new capital is set to be built over 800 miles from the current capital on the island of Borneo.
