Victoria Lautman, the American journalist has released a collection of photographs capturing the beautiful stepwells spanning all over the Indian subcontinent. The highly efficient means of rain water harvesting structures are now scarcely found due to high speed of urbanisation. The photo series is an effort to emphasis the multifunctional aspects whether pertaining to socio-cultural, environmental or architectural factors leading to one of the neglected sites.
