Hajizadeh and Associates have visualized a stepped plaza over the Tokyo Music Centre. The design aims towards creating an amalgamation of the public and private spaces by making the curved roof of the award winning design accessible. Taking cues from the Japanese culture, the plaza uses timber as its main material. The design team initiated the project by analysing the site and its surroundings in order to respect the nearby landmarks and buildings. The undulating roof of the music centre which will house the stepped plaza accommodates according to the building program, as a result the top most volume of the plaza encompasses the main entrance.
