Es Devlin in her new installation at the Pitzhanger Gallery in Ealing, London has come up with a three dimensional map of all the historic events. Named the ‘Memory Palace’, the installation is an adaptation of an ancient mnemonic technique from Greece. The map actually maps out the moments as buildings, cities, and spaces in order to form its customised three dimensional navigator. The mapped history includes events such as the caves in the Southern Africa reminiscent of the initial markings of homo sapiens in Paleolithic Era, Rennaissance period, Vindication of the Rights of Women in 1972 and the most recent one includes Greta Thunberg’s climate strike.
