In a paradigm of concrete and brick, Bangalore International Centre is formed out of slim concrete frame encasing a steel framed glass box. Though the compact site has more limitations to offer than advantages but the design by studio Hundredhands which was chosen out of a competition held in 2012, is a poetry of interchanging volumes. Since there was less opportunity to inhabit open spaces in the design, the playful transitions and intermediate connections creates a diverse range of spatial language. The design accommodate an oculus which creates vertical connections within the building that expands the volume furthermore.
Domed oculus becomes the vertical connection in Bangalore International Centre (BIC).
