The curvaceous aluminium blob sitting upon an undulated landscape along the edge of a lake in the Chinese city of Liyang, is the Liyang museum actually designed in the form of a traditional musical instrument. Guqin, a seven stringed zither is a Chinese musical instrument which forms the basis of the design as the firm wished to translate the sound of the instrument. The thin strips of the aluminium cladded on the form actually recalls the carved wood of the instrument.
