Frank Gehry's long-awaited Guggenheim Abu Dhabi is set to begin construction on the capital’s Saadiyat in the Island Persian Gulf, finally after the announcement in 2007. Once construction is underway, the museum will likely take four years to complete. The Guggenheim website quoted about its experimental design will "create an innovative vision for viewing contemporary art in the context of a desert landscape”. At 320,00 square feet, it will dwarf Frank Lloyd Wright’s Guggenheim New York.
