TRIAS Architects raises timber Three Piece House on a red brick base.

A trio of timber-clad bungalows by TRIAS Architects form Three Piece House in Australia, which is raised on a reclaimed brick base which elevates the building above the flood plain and lends it an unexpected feeling of heft and permanence. The whole complex is unified by a material palette that the architecture studio describes as “robust and resilient, raw and rugged”, in reference to the windswept coastal site. All of these bricks were reclaimed from a 1940s bungalow that once occupied the site, and are also used in flooring and furniture elements.
