Traditional Geisha house in Japan turns into a one-room Hotel

A 70- year old geisha house turns into a one-room boutique hotel by the hotel brand Trunk along with a design studio Tripster. Nestled in a cobbled street of Tokyo in the Kagurazaka neighbourhood, the design for the hotel is inspired from the traditional Japanese salons which were used as a congregational space. The idea was to create an amalgamation of the new and old to create a more contemporary styled space. Along with the hotel, the building also inhabits a miniature disco which is also an interesting feature of the design.
