Period. End of Sentences an Indian-set film with an Indian executive producer, Guneet Monga bagged an Academy Award for the Best Documentary Short Subject award. Set in Uttar Pradesh’s Hapur, the short film, based on taboos revolving around menstruation, has been directed by Iranian American filmmaker Rayka Zehtabchi.
The project was initiated by Melissa Berton, and her students from Oakwood school in Los Angeles.
