Striving to achieve a new milestone, AIRLAB has installed a 3D printed temporary pavilion within Gardens by the Bay in Singapore. With an aim to design a durable structure with extremely light in weight, the team chose a tetrahedral structure. The tetrahedral configuration efficiently achieves the lightness due to its more than 200 linear elements which are able to distribute the load evenly and finally converging into its 3d printed nodes. Overlooking the four main views- the dragonfly river, the SG50 dome, the entrance path and the iconic Marina Bay Sands, the polyhedron encompasses on a green slope in the Bayfront area of the gardens.
